AFAS is the all-in-one business software for HR, payroll, and administration. For many organisations it is the system where every employee record starts and every payslip ends. This integration connects that world to your daily planning in Shiftbase. Employee data comes in from AFAS, so your schedules always run on the current team; approved hours and absence go back, so payroll runs on what actually happened on the floor. No exports, no double entry, no end-of-month surprises.

Why you should have this integration

  • One source for employee data: New hires, contract changes, and departures registered in AFAS appear in Shiftbase automatically. Contract hours and contract type come along, so the schedule knows who can work how much.

  • Hours flow straight to payroll: Worked hours registered and approved in Shiftbase are exported to AFAS, ready for payroll. The gap between "hours worked" and "hours paid" disappears, along with the spreadsheet in between.

  • Absence goes across too: Absence you register in Shiftbase is exported to AFAS, so your absence administration matches the schedule. Leave balances stay in Shiftbase, which is where you manage them.

How does the integration work?

Here's the lowdown:

  • Employee sync: Employee and contract details transfer from AFAS to Shiftbase, keeping your team data consistent and up to date.

  • Hours export: Shiftbase tracks and approves worked hours, then exports them to AFAS for payroll calculation.

  • Absence export: Absence registered in Shiftbase is sent to AFAS, so both systems show the same absence.

  • AFAS leads, you map it once: You link your AFAS cost centres, contract types, and wage and hour components to the departments and components you already use in Shiftbase. After that AFAS is the source for employee and contract data, and the sync runs overnight.
