The problem

A full house can still lose money.

Booked-out weekends, a busy floor, happy guests - and a week that still ends in the red. Hospitality margins don't leak in one big place. They leak shift by shift.

Costs you see too late.

The payroll report tells you in four weeks what you needed to know while planning. By then the money is spent.

A team that keeps changing.

Students, seasonal staff, part-timers who come and go. Every change means new contracts, new wage data, and onboarding from scratch.

The request that arrives on WhatsApp.

Someone wants Saturday off and asks you at eleven on a Friday night, on WhatsApp, while you are on the pass.

Employee scheduling

Build the week from real availability.

Your team submits availability in the app, so you build the week from what people can actually do rather than from what you can remember. When someone drops out, the shift goes open and whoever is eligible claims it without you ringing round.

Mobile app + payroll

Your team knows when they work and what they're paid.

Publish the schedule and it lands in everyone's mobile app. Swaps, availability and time off run through Shiftbase instead of the group chat. Worked hours flow from the punch clock into your payroll export, so the hours you approve are the hours that go off.

Seasonal staff

Rehire your summer crew in minutes.

High turnover and seasonal peaks come with the territory. Shiftbase keeps former employees on file, so when last year's terrace crew returns, you rehire them with contracts and wage data intact. New faces get onboarded in the app before their first shift starts.

Performance

Close every day knowing where you stand.

Enter the day's revenue at close and Performance sets it against your labour costs. See which services earned their keep and which ate the margin. Bring the week's numbers to your Monday management meeting and make decisions you can defend.

Four key figures: turnover €6,920.00, productivity €65.28, average hourly wage €15.60 and labour cost 23.9%

ATuesdaywith Shiftbase.

Every restaurant has the same rhythm: doors open, service runs, and something unexpected lands in between. Below is what a day would look like when your schedule, hours, and numbers run through Shiftbase.

10:43

The early shift.

Today's schedule is in everyone's pocket. Nobody calls to ask when they start.

11:20

A sick call.

Open the shift, see who's available, and have cover confirmed before the rush.

16:55

Peak hours.

The lunch rush, the check-in queue, the full terrace. Every clock-in flows to timesheets in the background.

23:49

Close.

Enter today's revenue and Performance sets it against worked hours. You go home knowing whether Tuesday earned its keep.

Try it out, then decide.

Build next week's schedule, publish it to your team, and close a few days in Performance. If it doesn't earn its keep, it costs you nothing.

Set up in a day.

Every feature in your plan is open from day one, no credit card needed. Your first week can be live tonight.

Runs on shifts.

FAQ

Got questions?

Everything about running a hospitality team on Shiftbase - and if it's not here, our team is one message away.

No. How many people go on a shift is your call, not a calculation, because covers, bookings and arrivals never reach a Shiftbase account. What you get is the cost of the week before it starts, set against the week you have already booked out, so you can see what a decision costs before you make it. The euro figure and the charts require Premium.

It does. Run a café, a restaurant and a hotel from one account, with their own teams, budgets and schedules, and see the costs side by side.

Through the app. Open the shift and your team sees who is available; you confirm the cover. No group chat, no phone tree, and the schedule updates for everyone at once.

They stay on file. When last summer’s terrace crew comes back you rehire them with their contract and wage data intact, instead of onboarding from scratch.

Your till, yes: connect it through the App Center and the turnover comes across on its own, so you can set it against worked hours at close. A hotel property system is different. There is no PMS integration at any tier, so occupancy and room revenue are typed in.
