About the integration

Buddee is the HR and payroll platform for small and medium-sized businesses: digital employee records, contracts, leave and absence management, and payroll in one system. This integration makes Buddee the single source for your HR data. You enter everything in Buddee, and Shiftbase is updated automatically. Employees, contract hours, approved leave, and sick leave all arrive in your schedule without anyone entering them twice.

Why you should have this integration

  • Enter data once: New employees added in Buddee automatically get an account in Shiftbase. Name and address changes follow along, so your team data is always current in both systems.

  • Contracts and hours included: Contracts sync with start date, end date, position, and contract hours. Your schedules and time tracking in Shiftbase always run on the current agreement.

  • Absence straight into the schedule: Approved leave from Buddee appears in Shiftbase right away, and rejected requests are removed automatically. Sick leave is registered too, and closes as soon as the employee is back at work. Planners always see who is actually available.

How does the integration work?

Here's the lowdown:

  • One direction, one source: Data flows from Buddee to Shiftbase. Buddee stays the leading system for HR data, so leave balances and employee records live in one place. Anything that needs changing, you change in Buddee.

  • Employee sync: New and updated employees transfer automatically, matched on their work email address, or their private one if there is no work email.

  • Contract sync: Contracts and contracted hours per day carry over, so Shiftbase calculates hours correctly.

  • Absence sync: Approved leave and sick leave land in the Shiftbase schedule, based on the employee's work schedule in Buddee.

  • Simple setup: Generate an API key in Shiftbase under Settings → App Center → Buddee, enter it in Buddee, and map your departments, contract types, and absence types once. An absence type has to be switched on in your Shiftbase absence policy before you can map it. Buddee keeps an error log, so you can see where a sync went wrong.

Do you also want your worked hours to flow through to payroll? Buddee runs its payroll on Nmbrs, and Shiftbase connects to Nmbrs as well, so hours recorded in Shiftbase can go straight into payroll.
