About the integration

Turning worked hours into CAO-correct pay is where scheduling gets hard: surcharges that stack or don’t, overtime against individual contract hours, allowances that only apply after a shift of a certain length. CAO|API is built for that. It takes the hours your team registers in Shiftbase, applies the rules of your CAO using validated CAO templates, and returns results that are accurate, traceable, and ready for your payroll package, from AFAS and Nmbrs to Exact and Visma.

  • Data transfer: Shiftbase sends your registered data to CAO|API: employee data, worked hours, schedules, contracts, and absences.

  • CAO processing: CAO|API applies your CAO’s rules to those hours and works out the right wage components per employee.

  • On to payroll: The processed results are ready for your payroll software. CAO|API connects to AFAS, Nmbrs, Exact, Visma, and more.

  • Guided setup: Request the connection under Settings → App Center → CAO/API. CAO|API contacts you to configure the right CAO template and finish the setup with you.
