DATEV

DATEV is where German payroll runs. The DATEV export is available today: your approved hours, allowances and absences leave Shiftbase as a file in the format DATEV expects, ready for your payroll office to import. A direct API connection is in the works.

About the integration

DATEV is the standard for payroll in Germany, used by tax advisors and payroll offices across the country. Shiftbase connects to that world in two steps. Today you can hand your worked hours, allowances and absences to DATEV Lohn und Gehalt through a ready-made export, built on your own mapping of personnel numbers and wage types. And we are working on a direct API connection with DATEV, so that this exchange will run without any file handling at all.

Available today

  • One-time setup: Activate DATEV in the App Center and enter a recipient email address, your client number and your tax advisor number. Then map your cost centres, DATEV personnel numbers and wage components, per contract type.

  • Export per month: Open the DATEV report under Statistics, select the month and send. Shiftbase compiles approved hours, allowances and absences per employee into a CSV file and emails it to the address you choose, for example your tax advisor's.

  • Import into DATEV: Your tax advisor or payroll office imports the file into DATEV Lohn und Gehalt and runs payroll as usual.

The result: the hours registered and approved in Shiftbase are the hours that reach payroll. No retyping, no transposed digits, no missing allowances.

Coming up

We are building a direct API connection with DATEV. Hours and absences will then flow from Shiftbase to DATEV automatically, without exporting, emailing or importing a file. Your setup and mapping carry over, so switching from the export to the API connection will not mean starting again. Follow this page or our release notes for the launch.
